Abstract

The work aims to obtain the tribological properties of stern bearing materials under the coupling of different environmental factors through wear acceleration tests and predict their service life. By designing orthogonal experiments under seawater lubrication conditions with varying temperatures, sliding speed, and loads, accelerated wear tests of bearing materials were conducted with a high-speed ring-on-block friction tester to obtain the friction coefficient and characteristic wear rate of the materials. Finally, a wear degradation model was established to predict the service life of the bearing materials. As the temperature increased, the average friction coefficient and characteristic wear rate of the materials increased significantly. At the same temperature, the higher sliding speed and the lower load contributed to reducing the friction coefficient. Based on the generalized Eyring acceleration model, a degradation model was established. Under conditions of 60 ℃ temperature, 4 m/s sliding speed, and 60 N load, the predicted average service life of the bearing materials was 405.0 h. Temperature shows the greatest impact on the accelerated wear of bearing materials. The degradation model is established based on the results of wear acceleration tests, providing a quantitative basis for reliability assessment and maintenance cycle planning of bearings in engineering applications.
