Abstract: |
The work aims to reviewthe research progress in the field of metal corrosion assessment and prediction centering on the issue of metal corrosion in the marine environment. It began by investigating the effects of various chemical, physical, and biological factors in the marine setting on metal corrosion, and subsequently offered a systematic summary of commonly-used methods for corrosion assessment, including the methods based experimental and detection results, simulation, and big-data analysis. A comprehensive review was then conducted on the characteristics and application scenarios of existing empirical, physically-based, and data-driven corrosion prediction models for metal. Finally, the future direction of development for corrosion assessment and prediction of metal in the marine environment is proposed. |
