Review of Testing Technology for Vehicle Climatic Environmental Worthiness

Abstract

The impact of six climate environments (temperature and humidity, low air pressure, solar radiation, sand and dust, salt spray, and rain and snow) on the performance of automobiles is investigated. The corresponding test items, experimental objectives, and key validation points for both fuel-powered vehicles and new energy vehicles are further outlined. Additionally, three testing techniques are elaborated in detail: outdoor road environment testing, indoor environmental simulation testing, and virtual environmental simulation testing, with focuses on domestic standards for automotive environmental testing under road and laboratory conditions, evaluation criteria, and common failure modes observed during “three extremes” road tests for fuel-powered and new energy vehicles. Furthermore, the current research status and future trends of indoor environmental simulation technology and virtual environmental simulation experiments are reviewed.
