Standard System of Aircraft EWIS Corrosion Protection and Control

Abstract

The work aims to systematically study the standard system for electrical wiring interconnection system (EWIS) corrosion protection and control. Firstly, the current situation of relevant standards in China and abroad is analyzed. Represented by the United States, foreign countries have constructed a pyramid system of "top-level regulations - general manuals - special guidelines" through top-level regulations such as FAR25, TO series manuals and NAVAIR series guidelines, realizing full-life-cycle and full-process coverage and closed-loop iteration. Although China has formulated a number of national standards and military standards in the field of aircraft structure corrosion protection, there are shortcomings in the EWIS field including the lack of a standard system, lagging top-level design, scattered requirements, and no relevant top-level regulations in the military aviation field. Based on the concepts of systems engineering and full-life-cycle management, a five-level standard system covering "General Fundamentals, Control Requirements, Technical Methods, Failure Evaluation, and Usage Guidance" is constructed, the protection requirements and corresponding standards for each stage are clarified, and the gap in this field is filled. Integrating advanced experiences from various parties, this system forms a civil-military compatible integrated standard chain, which can provide guidance for the standardization of EWIS corrosion protection and has important theoretical and practical significance for improving aircraft equipment reliability and safety, and reducing maintenance costs.
