Abstract

The work aims to investigate the vibration and fatigue characteristics of stiffened panels under high-temperature heat flux and strong noise environments to meet the research needs for hypersonic flight vehicles in China. Based on a coupled finite element/boundary element method, the dynamic response of stiffened panels under various loads was calculated, with particular focus on the variation of thermal modal frequencies with temperature. Power spectral density analysis was employed to examine how structural stress changed with sound pressure level and flow velocity. Fatigue life prediction was conducted using the rainflow counting method and Morrow's mean stress model combined with Miner's linear cumulative damage theory. The stress cycle distribution and structural damage level were analyzed through the Rainflow Cycle Matrix (MRFM) and Rainflow Damage Matrix (MRFD), respectively, to investigate the effects of thermal, aerodynamic, and acoustic loads on structural fatigue life. Modal tests at room temperature and acoustic excitation experiments were carried out to validate the reliability of simulation results. Thermal and acoustic loads significantly affected the total structural stress, while aerodynamic load had a relatively minor influence. The structural fatigue life exhibited a non-monotonic evolution of initially decreasing and then stabilizing with increasing temperature, and decreased as the sound pressure level increased. Experimental results show excellent agreement with simulations, confirming the reliability of the multi-physics coupled numerical prediction approach.
