Abstract

To address the abnormal vibration response of control surfaces during flutter flight tests, the work aims to conduct a study on typical structural response fault analysis and diagnosis technologies. The abnormal vibration responses of left and right control surfaces in ground excitation tests were taken as the starting point. By introducing the principle of sweep excitation of control surfaces, a fault tree was established for this fault issue. Through individual testing and elimination of different bottom events in the fault tree, the fault causes and mechanisms of abnormal vibration responses in left and right control surfaces were identified. The effectiveness of fault elimination was verified through ground excitation tests and flight tests. Finally, based on the logical process of this fault elimination, a fault analysis and diagnosis workflow for typical flutter flight test faults was abstracted, forming the typical fault analysis and diagnosis technology. The peak-to-peak ratio of vibration responses between the left and right control surfaces decreased from 1.5 to 1.08, while the frequency at which the right surface's response sharply dropped increased from 0.552 to 0.641. The application of this fault analysis and diagnosis technology has successfully addressed the abnormal vibration responses in the left and right control surfaces, providing valuable reference and guidance for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving similar issues in future flutter flight tests.
